So, I have a question, how can I move my W@W from one PC to another? Complete game and ALL files. I am not sure where disc and case are, if I even still have them. I looked at my Steam account and it's not listed as a game I have. Wha?? I guess I really have two questions then. How do I get my Steam to acknowledge that I have W@W? I ask that because I could just load up Steam on other PC and download, correct?

If you bought the game under steam, then with the correct user name a pwd you should be able to download it to a new computer. Steam will send you an email with a code to verfiy the new system and then you can download what ever games you bought from steam. I would recommend backing up your old player profile so you can re-install it to keep the same rank in game.

I bought a hard copy of the game from Best Buy, therefore, no steam. Is there a way to register my game with Steam tho? Sorry, I should've clarified that.

I know with Black Ops retail is asked me to register, I don't know about a retail version of W@W as it is an older game. I got my W@W via steam.

A retail serial will not work with Steam. The only real difference between the two is that you have to manually download the updated for the disc version,  and the file structure is a bit different. The save and stat files are in the same  place.

But you can find a 3gb download that has all patches within called "The Ultimate Patch".  You can get it here: http://www.fileplanet.com/217291/download/Call-of-Duty:-World-at-War---Ultimate-Patch-v1.7
 
And you can use this guide for finding where your save/stat files go: http://www.politeandfriendly.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=500  Start the new install once, and it will create the folder structure for you to transfer the save files to.

PS - multiplayer only requires the game be patched to version 1.6, so no real need to install 1.7. But that last patch is tiny, so finding the individual updates will not really save you time.

If you still have the CD Key you can Activate the game on steam, I had a hard copy and just activated it on steam...

Thanx  Abram. I will have to look into it tonight. I just literally dug out my older PC I built. It's a AMD 64, 4 gigs of DDR 2700 ram, and some kinda older Nvidia card. Lol. Lil dated but hey, it's a 64 bit machine with 4 gigs. I think I built it in 2007? Lol. W@W works on 64 bit XP right?

I don't see why not. The lack of x64 programs when XP x64 ame out made me stick with x86, way back then. I've heard some folks claim that Win7 x64 is about as easy on resources as XP x64. If you run into any bumps during your fun, many folks on TS can give ya  hand.

I'm gonna update all drivers tonight and make sure everything is on the up and up. I booted it up just now and it was up and running in 20 seconds. Not bad considering it's been sitting in a shed outside for 16 months. Hasn't been used since 2009. First build too! Lol. Now that I look back, the 700w power supply is way over kill. Lol. I gotta see if my BFG 250 gpu will fit now...

W@W runs fine on my 64bit Win 7 so you should be fine

if your version of W@W is a cd copy you can always install it and add to steam as a non steam game it will show in your list and you will be able to play through steam. I do this myself so that i can use the steam in game features (webbrowser) to bring up badkon so i do not have to alt tab out of the game. If you get it installed and need help adding a non steam game to steam message me I'd be glad to help

True enough, but a non-Steam version of W@W will still detected the Steam overlay as a disallowed program, and boot him for it if it gets pulled up...
