BF1 Purchase

Hey All,
I am just trying to gauge from the clan what the plans are.  I know there are several people that have expressed purchasing the game, as well as several people stating they have refunded or may refund the game.  I know with the cloud swirling around dedicated servers (EA/Dice Official) vs. rented servers (BK Admin'd) that this has put a LOT of the decision to put buying the game on hold or not buying at all.  THAT is where I am at right now.  I can't see spending $60-$130 for a game that a handful (or a few handfuls) of BKers have, though I do like gaming with those that I know have purchased or plan to purchase the game.

This is where I waffle...so not sure if I should put up a "scientific" BK poll to gauge how many people have purchased, plan to purchase, wait and see, or won't purchase the game.  If you would, please post your thoughts on what you have done or plan to do?

Hey Taz,
currently I'm at "plan to purchase".
This is mostly to have the option for some variation in my gaming.
So, I will probably buy even if we don't get rentable servers.
Even BF4 in all its glory can become slightly boring sometimes. Need something new.

Waiting a long time Got burned on Hardline paid full price and then everybody stopped playing. Was a total waste of money

I'm in the same boat you are Taz.
I don't want to spend that much money on something if we aren't going to support it.
Times are tight and I need to be able to justify the cost.
It's a cool game for sure, but feeding my family for a week is cool too!

In conclusion, the answer as of right this very moment is, "I will not be purchasing the game."
But ultimately time will tell.

I have pre ordered and will follow through with the purchased no matter what everyone else does. We just have to face the fact that rentable servers will be if not already a thing of the past. I know there were a lot of members who held off on BF Hardline  and bought it just as interest died down. I ended up with over 645 hours in the game. and that figures to be a bout a little less than 6 dollars an hour of entertainment. Not a bad deal. MY point is if you  wait to see what the interest is it may be to late the game might have died out.

My suggestion is who ever is getting on the train do so early and make the best of what is offered until something else comes along

I speak for both Scubi and myself, we're both buying the game. Assuming there will be no rental servers that BK can admin, all we need to do is have 1 member enter a server with enough room and everyone else uses " join friend "

Yep...Karow and Firecracker and Scubi...and Sunny...and others are those that I know are getting the game and that I truly enjoy playing with...I will probably think through the weekend...and probably end up getting it, either way (rentable servers or not)...just trying to gauge the interest, so I know there will be BKers playing when I log in.

Undecided. Haven't been gaming much lately due to business commitments. But am still considering purchase.

I would like to but the game I enjoyed the Beta. However,  like some others I have limited funds. And with MW4 remake and Battalion 1944 also on the way I am going to have to wait it out.  I don't want make a Hardline type of error.  Hey for variety their are still a lot of COD gamers and servers still active and BF4 of course.  So I will let some grass grow here before I commit. I agree that enable servers seem to be a thing of the past though IMO. I do surmise I will eventually buy BF1.

I have bought the game and enjoyed the alpha and beta.  So I will be playing both BF4 and BF1

I'm not going to be buying it, (at least anytime soon) for a few reasons:

- I'm unemployed at the moment and can't afford it.
- I don't think my gfx card will run it well, and replacing it isn't an option right now.
- WW 1&2 shooters haven't really been my cup of tea.
- I'm not really interested in FPS games in general lately.

Despite my setbacks and hesitations, A very generous friend of mine has gifted me with a copy of BF1 so I will be playing it on Friday!

I hope that those of you who do decide to plunk down the money we all enjoy the game. Smile

All I need is the final deposit when I pick the game up for Scubi and I.
