Good lord, what a bunch of idiots lol. This will either be really good, or really terrible. Doubt it will be anywhere in between.

Pretty interesting. Without admin kicks and bans I guess the main thing is putting up maps and modes that we want. Also an easier place to gather together. Controlled gaming we enjoyed in the past at least for some COD and BF games seems to be not available for future EA games or at least BF1.

Going to be very expensive in my opinion

Right now I'm very undecided. On the one hand I agree that it's going to be expensive and if we can't admin the server is the price(?) worth it? On the other, if we don't rent a server we all may not get to play together.
One thing for sure.....as far as EA and Dice are concerned we are no different than console gamers. This may very well be my last EA/Dice game.

https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/rent-a-server-for-battlefield-1 It doesn't say anything about admins not being able to kick or ban but if procon won't be working with the new system like the person who wrote the link Johnny posted speculates then it'll just end up like battlefront 2015 with untoward people running amok.

This is the main problem I had with COD games.  If I wanted to play on a console, I would buy a console...

Well also as the article states they will be adding to it over time, guessing to see how certain additions effect there ability to support in general. Now just an idea, hold off renting the server for a month or so and see how the other servers are working.. If in fact EA allows administrative tools such as procon they we jump in, if not we would be unable to have a server that represents our moto Polite and Friendly. So guess we will see.....

Will wait and see, you have to ask yourself is it worth the money just to put your name on a server that you can't admin? It won't give us a place to play if it's full, and people are causing problems, and we can't remove them, the regular players will just move on to an empty server...I see a lot of problems with this coming up. Don't think I will waste my money on the game just yet.

I think it is just a ploy to prevent or slow down the cancellation of pre-orders. Why else would the release occur after the launch of the game. My though is because the rent-able servers are nothing more than EA controlled servers that we can pay money to put our clans name on and set the map rotation. Don't get me wrong I am still all in on buying the game and playing on what ever server I can find my BK mates playing on. I am just cautioning members not to buy the game if they are thinking the rent-able servers will be like what we have to day. Only buy the game if you are willing to play on servers we can not control the type of players and the language on the server.

I still have a glimmer of hope I am wrong and some day we will hear about true Admin-able servers.  Sad  Sad

I was reading this topic "Battlefield 1 (Rent A Server)" in the BF forums and found EA  closed the discussion. Not very encouraging

Main concern is once again, non adminable servers. Undecided still.
