From Fudzilla:

So much for IWNet curbing cheating

One of the main excuses that developer Infinity Ward used to explain the lack of dedicated server support for the PC release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was that it would be able to curb the hacks and cheating with the new system. It would appear that although it was only released a couple of days ago, the first batch of hacks and cheats are already hitting the PC version of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

The Call of Duty hacking website has published a video that shows their latest hack in action. The hack appears when activated, shows the position of all players, reduces recoil on the guns and adds aiming/firing accuracy. Of course, while some might claim that the video is an elaborate hoax, based on what we can tell we just don’t think so. Of course, as you might expect, the guys responsible for this hack are selling it.

The problem is now that because Infinity Ward has taken away the dedicated servers, there is no way to ban or kick players that are cheating. It would appear that the anti-cheat technology measures that Infinity Ward has deployed aren’t working or picking this up yet. The news isn’t at all encouraging for the initial release of the PC version, and will provide yet another reason for PC players to be disappointed.

A blind man, could have seen this coming. I hope they abandon there over proud boast eat some humble pie and give us what we come to expect of them in the past, instead of this dismal representation that they have become.

That's what happens when you half ass a release by doing an exact port with modified user controls (mouse/keyboard), what might work for console, in terms of reducing hacks, might and probably wont work for PC due to the different coding.

I wonder if there is a place to see the break down of how many games were/are sold per platform.

If you will recall when CODWAW first came out there were multiple servers that allowed you to level all the way up in like 2 hours...They will make a patch and fix it..it standard fare guys.

The level up servers were not hacks... it was an option that you could change in server settings. This is completely different and is an actual gamehack. This game uses Valve anti-cheat which I garantee you is the worst anti cheat software out there. People always complain about the hackers in CSS, well guess how many hackers there will be in this game.

Yea my friend sent me a free copy CSS, I played it two days and came in contact with at least 20 hackers over various servers, all were running VAC, the most outragous of these hacks being a super fast movement + aimbot, at the start of a round, the player with said hack would zip through the map and shoot everyone in the head in a matter of seconds, each round was at most 5 seconds in length. I have seen way more hacks in VAC protected games than any PB games out there.
