Ok this is the problem. I installed windows 7 64 bit and COD W@W is not working. The game starts but when I click to choose online profile I get the "COD W@W multiplayer has stopped working".
Tried to reinstall three times. The game and PB are cleared to go through firewall. PB diagnostic tool reports no errors. Tried compatibility mode for the game and PB. Tried running them in administrator mode.
I have the latest video drivers and windows is updated. Installed Black Hawk Down to test and it works fine online.

It could be that if you are using an old profile it may be corrupt for some reason. Have you tried creating a new profile? What about single player does it crash also?

Already tried that with the sound settings. I can't play single player because I don't have the DVD. I bought the key so that I can play multi player. As I said the game starts and loads the main menu. I can even go into options but when I click on select online profile it stops.

Only profiles with the same GUID work.

I don't think that the profile is the problem. At the moment the game is on the original 1.0 version. Fresh install and no profiles yet. I should be able to create one and load the servers list even though I will not be able to play on any because of the version.

Did some checking on the web, make sure you have no overlays loaded, Play Claw, Fraps etc.
You might try disabling your firewall just to see kinda thing, I know you have the port cleared .
Also I would disable your antivirus, I use Avast and still have prob. with COD if its running
Just disable everything that loads at startup and try. Gota start narrowing the problem down somewhere
Just some things to try

Tried even that. There is nothing installed other than COD, motherboard drivers and antivirus.

Yes, only the COD W@W application error with a code 1000. Tried to look that up on the Internet. Could not find anything explaining that code.
