Update Your Antivirus

A recent string of viruses has been making its way across the internet. These strings can be very dangerous for your computers. After a trip to the tech center at UW-Madison with my girlfriend, many folks reported receiving viruses from sites such as CNN.com, UPS, even Microsoft Windows Update. These viruses have caused serious damage to computers resulting in most computers to receive wipes. Please remember to keep your Antivirus, Antispyware, and Antimalware up to date. This will help us to keep our website safe from these threats. Please remember to scan any items you intend to share with us before linking them from the website. This includes zip files, photos, and more. Thank you!

On a side note:

My girlfriend got a virus right after running Microsoft Windows Update, which is supposed to be secure. Running antivirus at the time seriously increased the protection of her computer. Using a good spyware and antivirus in tandom will protect your computer to its maximum security. Check out Malwarebytes for a great antimalware if you get it!

I have also been the victim of a virus recently, although it was easy to get rid of. I will certainly be getting an anti-virus program soon.

It is always a good idea to make sure your virus scan every day and make sure to update every day.

Avast for everyday protection for my computers. Free, yes, but it has caught much more than anything else I have ever used. Malwarebytes as just a quick scan for other possible issues, but none so far since i have put on Avast. At least we are all in agreement that Norton has about run its course on dependability? Not too useful anymore and NOT easy to get rid of if you install it.

Hah they compared eset to kacrappy and eset did way better than it could in terms of leaving a smaller foot note and detecting less items as viruses ( falsely claiming something to be a virus when it wasn't )
