i like them both but I don't really have experience with AMD. I love my core i7 920.

married , 2 son`s , no money for PC-things (my wife slaps me always when i say "i need a new part for my PC *smash, boom ,bäääng*-----> AMD .....good power ,less price ....it`s enough for my GFX and gaming (i play every game with max settings)
