HD its nice but with those drives you need to run in raid 0 to really see the speed(yesterday newegg had the 150gig raptors for 99)

Let me know how you like that MB, im looking to upgrade myself and want a good crossfire board.  If you can swing it I would go for the 2 hard drives and RAID them.  I have two of the older raptors (35gb) in a RAID for my OS and they are fast, but will be going SSD when I upgrade.  By Christmas the price on video cards may go down if so I would recommend the 5850 or 5870.

what would have been a better bang for the buck would be to get a small ssd to use just for your games and OS. Then use a cheap 50 dollar HD for your programs and other storage needs.

As for the price you spent, you could have built an i7 rig for about the same price. ( Way more performance )

hellin I already had that vid card i just using it till i get a new one. ufans the mobo is nice and i am likeing it so far and the reason i going for he 5770 is because it a reasonable price and it is still a good card but if the prices drop enough i might just buy it the 5850. wannab i when with the amd CPU because i am a amd fan. the hard drive choice was because SSD are expensive even for 50GB and i went with 1 300 GB raptor because i only wanted 1 HDD right now and i needed more than 150

Dont worry Krum  im an AMD fan, always have been always will be.  You can always pick up another raptor and RAID it, you would have to reinstall the OS.  I would recommend getting another HD for programs and downloads.  Partitioning out a hard drive will not speed up load and access time when on the same drive.  But if you put your OS on your raptor and programs on a 7200rpm drive this will allow the raptor to work the OS and the separate drive to work the programs at the same time.  That is how I setup mine up.

The main thing you want a fast hard drives for are games, some large programs and OS's: All of the other programs you have simply don't need all that extra speed to run. I mean come on, does teamspeak need a super fast load speed?

Using a SSD as a boot drive is always going to out perform any HD's in raid.

60gb SSD for booting $150 + 300gb HD $50 = 360GB for $200  ~300MB/s ~80MB/s

1 300GB VelociRaptor $190
2 300GB VelociRaptor $380
~100MB/s after spin up
~185MB/s after spin up ( In raid )
