The news hit today that GameServers.com is already starting to take pre-orders for servers both ranked and unranked. In the U.S. players will be able to get a ranked Black Ops server for $14.95 per month or an unranked Black Ops server for .99 cents per slot with a 24-slot max.

Treyarch has claimed that the decision to go with an exclusive provider gives the company better control to deal with cheaters and offers better security. The rental servers will all offer those that purchase them the ability to kick, ban and configure a number of the settings. Ranked servers will have a set configuration that customers will be unable to modify.

So basically they copied EA and set it so whoever has a ranked server cant edit anything in the server config. Oh well what else is new, if they also go by EA's rules we wont be able to have a crouched server as it limits the players ability to run.

Also what they didn't seem to want to tell anyone is its going to be using VAC ( seen how its a steam exclusive game ) VAC is the worst anti-cheat program out to date.

The news about VAC has been out there for a while now. I don't believe there is anything in the rules that says we can't have a crouch server. It means you can't mod the config file to force crouch like some WaW moded servers do.

Thanks we already had  pre ordered servers a few weeks ago. This was announced almost a month ago and discussed in our last all team meeting. We are going to start with ranked servers as our main one and then a unranked server as a wild card one.

***We know nothing about what options a ranked server will have so at this time we are going to wait and see rather then worry about something we have no information on. Once we know more we will decided what to do then. No need to jump off cliffs when we do not know what is happening.**

This really seams a move to block rank up servers that have kind of gone crazy epically in COD W@W.
