ok i have a slight problem every motherboard i looked at then i bought my computer had 4 sata i had a quick look but it seems that it is still only 4 sata as standard but i have more than 4 sata devices and as you can not dual connect like on ide
i have 3 sata hdd at the mo and looking to expand, dvd drive and a blu ray drive and an esata on my case so i am 2 short as it is so i need either a 4 slot extender or more or possibly a new mobo any suggestions
if i get a new mobo i will be upgrading mobo, processor, graphics card (possible sound card) any suggestions

yes i could but all the ones i've seen are 1xied and 2xsata and i would like about 8 in total a 4 more also after another quick look around maybe some that are sata 3 compatible and even usb3 connections for external use would be cool

Do you want all your HDDs to be available or can you get away with being hot-swappable? If the latter, then there are some external caddies available.
I'm saving up for a new mobo - but will need ddr3 memory as well as processor and maybe new power supply.

I have to agree with Falcontx on the EVGA boards. I have the EVGA X58 Classified and love it. Many of the EVGA boards have up to 9 SATA ports.

On my last build I bought a Gigabyte Ultra Durable 3 MA790X-UD4P
Obviously, there's updated version to this now, but it's probably the best board I've owned. Has 8 3 Gb/s SATA connections. I'm using 7 of the 8 with no problems (other than having a junky WD Green edition drive I need to throw out the front door).
