I doubt the alpha version is anywhere near as demanding on system components as the final version will be, since its only 32 man server, almost no destructive environments, etc. Right now it just seems like they are testing battlelog and basic mechanics like the vaulting, prone, and other basic principles of the game.
Those who don't have access to the alpha aren't missing much.

there are reports that the beta actually said you need recommended requirements and not min requirements so full game may be heavier but might still run on lower end machines as it does have to run on console as well

I have had some lag issues - I'll be running over a bridge and then I will be back to the beginning of the bridge and have to run over it again
I am having a hard time spotting enemy players
Also the RPGs are getting used alot like in BFBC2
I have NEVER yet seen an attacking team win yet

Actually wolf all you have to do is just redeem the product key code...you don't have to install it. That's all I did and the very next day i had an email...but, this is the way it goes...if you have MOH then you have access to BF3 Alphaa trial..as long as you registered the game. There is no special thing to do, your email is picked ramdomly under the registered MOH players.
Unfortunately this is not so. If you look at the BF3 Alpha test website, they state that it is NOT the beta that was promised to people who pre-ordered MoH. What is required is that you have your veteran status updated on the BC2 website, and that you sign up for the BF3 newsletter.
However, I will try whatever I can with MoH to try and get an e-mail. Because I really want to play the alpha trial! lol
I'll let you guys know if it works or not.
